I was born and raised in Northern Utah. I have a degree in Business from Weber State University and a Juris Doctorate from the University of Utah. I am a businessman and expert in constitutional law with a 40-year history of winning cases, many against big government. I'm a problem solver and a tough but fair negotiator. I’m a fierce advocate for states, county, and city rights.
Doug was born at Hill Air Force Base. His father, Ernie, was a Korean War veteran who instilled in his son from an early age a love of God and country. As a self-made businessman and entrepreneur, he also taught Doug the value of hard work, sacrifice, perseverance, and generosity. From his mother, Bonnie, Doug learned compassion, kindness, and dependability. The balance of these individual traits became the foundation of Doug’s character, which has served him well as he’s worked hard to achieve his own success.
Over fifty years ago, I married my high school sweetheart and together we have raised five wonderful children, with eleven grandchildren. I'm an avid pilot, boater and rancher. I’m a man of faith and have served as a missionary in North Carolina and as a bishop. My wife and I served those with special needs in Morgan County.
